Suicide should not be an option. No matter how bad it seems you are NEVER alone. There are others who know just how you feel. That are going through (or went though) the same thing. And there are so many groups that than formed to be there for you. Looks like this website links to many of them (thank you!) so I won't list them here.

Leelah, I wish you could have hung in there a little longer. You were reaching an age where you could make your own decisions and IT IS NEVER TO LATE TO TRANSITION as you believed it was. Sometimes when the world seems against you, all you can do is bide your time. Now you will never blossom into the beautiful girl you could have been.

It's now been one month since Leelah's suicide on December 28th. Gone but not forgotten!

I want to say something to make sense of all this. I want to scream at her parents. I want to shake the world and ask what's wrong with it. I wish I could fix all this. I want to say something to fix all this but I am left shaking my head. Is it truly that hard to not let people just be who and what they are in peace? Why do we create these prisons for ourselves and others with our limiting beliefs?

Rest in peace Leelah. I'm sorry for all the suffering and pain you were forced to endure. Your life has impacted so many people around the world. You are sorely missed.
