Leelah Alcorn was a butterfly in a cocoon called Josh Alcorn. Because it was not nurtured we will never see the beauty that was to come. The world is a little less colourful now.

Thanks for posting links to Leelah's Reddit profile. I was reading over her posts and she seemed so sweet and genuine. It makes me cry to think we will never meet the woman she could have become.

I think the therapists should be held accountable for this. They are supposed to be the professionals who know better. Parents don't always know any better. The therapists could have helped the whole family come to terms with this. Instead they ganged up on the poor girl with her parents. It's morally wrong, and I think there could be legal considerations here too.

No one should be made to feel wrong about trying to express who they are. Why must we shove our expectations of others down their throat?

This sad news has even reached Japan. Here we say "ご冥福を祈ります" which means "We pray for your happiness in the next world."

Gone from this world too soon. I just shake my head every time I think about it. Such a shame. A little compassion would have gone a long way here.
