I know she didn't want people saying they wish they had gotten to know her but I wish I had. I am of similar age and in a similar situation with my parents. Thank God no conversion therapy but they just brush it off as a phase or me being rebellious. They keep telling me to stop being silly. So I really think Leelah would have been someone I could talk too. I think we could have become good friends even tho I am so far away.

I am both angry and sympathetic to her parents. I don’t know what to feel. It should never have come to this!

Don't forget to sign the petitions inspired by Leelah's story. I see they are already linked on this site (under "Change" in the menu) so I will not link them here too. (OK, I don't know how, LOL, but go there!)

I am so sadden for the lost of this beautiful young lady. I have such a hard time understanding why a parent or therapist would cause a child such pain. I have a grandson who is transgender. I love him no matter what. Please lets stop this hate, let's accept and open our hearts to those that need acceptance. RIP Leelah...

I think it is nice we are remembering Leelah and lighting candles for her, but please remember there are many more transgender suicides that never get to the news. At least now they have a voice through Leelah.
